Tea Upon Chatsworth is a cozy, quaint cafe located at 2180 Chatsworth Blvd. in San Diego, California. The tea room is a lovely place to savor tea and desserts. Patrons visit for a unique way to enjoy refreshments and conversation with friends and family. With antique tea cups and teapots, it has the romantic charm that will captivate any guest. Naturally, the ambiance attracted Outlander SoCal Edition, San Diego Chapter, to hold their Annual Ornament Exchangethere.
The San Diego family is a small, but close-knit group. Most of the Outlander SoCal Edition gatherings are centered around Los Angeles; however, San Diego hosts occasional events.

Today we honor this holiday by sharing some Yuletide decor from an ornament exchange held on December 3, 2016 in San Diego, California. Most were Outlander or Scottish themed, but not all. Take a look at the ornaments:
This homemade ornament highlighting Funko Pop! Jamie was the cutest thing we have seen! The green scarf is just so adorable on him.
The costumes that were on exhibit at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills were an incredible testament to the level of artistry present in the Outlander Television Series. The individual designs of the costumes were stunning. I truly admired how the unique embroidery and intricate details brought the pieces to life, while even hinting to subtle references of the creators and actors themselves.

He who works with his hands, his head, and his heart is an artist.

Often times, I fall in love with an artist’s design when I am reminded of a special memory. Other times it is from the feeling the specific art piece can illicit, especially when that emotion is linked to something I hold most dear. When I saw the beauty and elegance of the pottery creations by Inner Light Pottery, I was immediately struck by the exemplary level of artistry and design. The designs are unique and are truly one of kind. Continue reading Have Your Own Star Chamber through the Beauty of Luminary Pottery→
In Outlander, Jamie’s pet name for Claire is “Sassenach.” We are the Sass3nachs so this sangria is right up our alley!
This recipe can be found in various places on the web. This particular Sassenach Sangria was given to me as part of a gift from a “Secret Santa” at work, along with some of the ingredients and a tartan blanket!
Mission Trails Regional Park is a favorite place for San Diegans to gather and be outdoors. The park covers about 7,000 acres of recreational areas for hiking, picnicking, exercise, biking, and camping.
My father loved history. He grew up in a very rural town in southern New Mexico. He often told me that books were his way to escape his surroundings during his childhood and adolescent years. Through reading and travel, he learned about various points of European history that would equal the knowledge of a true historian. He often took me on his travels throughout the world where we could see living remnants of history that I had read in my school texts. We would also explore antique stores to admire remarkable pieces of furnishings, art, and other collectibles. This exploration of novelty antiques led my father to make some very rare purchases. Some of my favorite pieces of his collection were his replicas of Celtic and Spanish swords, even a breastplate.
