The Peak Posse SoCal MPC 5K Brunch

Keeping fit is a goal so many of us have. When you combine Sam Heughan’s My Peak Challenge (MPC) with The Peak Posse SoCal friends, it is just down-right delightful – not to mention fun!

Some members of The Peak Posse SoCal (a division of The Peak Posse which is world-wide) gathered together for a 5K and brunch event in Southern California. Of course, Sass3 joined in on the opportunity to participate.

House of Scotland Tartan Day

April 6 is the official U.S. date of National Tartan Day – a day to celebrate the Scottish Declaration of Independence and the achievements of those of Scottish descent. House of Scotland in San Diego’s Balboa Park hosted their annual Tartan Day celebration on Saturday, April 1.  A group of Outlander San Diego Edition lassies met up to enjoy the day.

We were looking forward to not only each other’s company, but the sound of bagpipes, the taste of Scottish vittles, and, of course, men in kilts!

My Outlander Anniversary: Making Book Boxes with Fellow Fans

Let Life Surprise You…

Life takes us in so many different directions.  This blog marks the one year anniversary of when I first became acquainted with my local enthusiasts who love Outlander as much as I do.  I find comfort in the knowledge that there are others as equally passionate as I am about the Outlander series.  Each fan has their own story of how they found other like-minded individuals who have invested themselves into this amazing fandom.  How did I find this group, one might ask?  My simple answer – over coffee.

Voyager Themed Painting with Outlander Friends, The Perfect Droughtlander Activity!

As Outlander fans, you can imagine the lengths we go through to keep ourselves busy until the next season, Voyager.  Pastimes like rereading the series for the 5th time, listening to Bear McCreary’s Outlander CDs for the 10th time, and rewatching the series – oh, lets say the gazillionth time – is not new to any Outlander devotee!  It’s a regular occurrence, to say the least.  However, one of the most rewarding Outlander hobbies is assembling with other like-minded fans; this, we absolutely look forward to. We gather and can genuinely be ourselves – not worrying about (as we do with our friends who haven’t found the glory of  “Diana Gabaldon’s word”) whether or not we sound strange with our constant Outlandish talk. We are always right at home with our clan! Continue reading Voyager Themed Painting with Outlander Friends, The Perfect Droughtlander Activity!

Sass3 Picks: Favorite Seattle Locations during Emerald City Comicon

Seattle.  Many people first envision rain when I tell them where I spent most of my life.  However, when I think of SeattleI am immediately reminded of the art, culture, ingenuity of novel businesses, friendly local people, and, of course, the stunning natural scenery that can be found in this magnificent city I so proudly refer to as my home.  It is a city that is surrounded by water and mountains, which completely validates the nickname the Emerald City.  I return as often as I can to visit with friends I have loved since Kindergarten, travel the steps I used to take during my time in college and graduate school, but, most of all, return to the treasured locations that remind me of my childhood.  These special places are often shared with my children.  However, this time I had a unique opportunity to return home to Seattle with my fellow bloggers to attend Emerald City Comicon.

Emerald City Comicon: Our Panel and Exhibit Hall Experience

ECCC, Emerald City Comicon,  was held the weekend of March 2-6 in Seattle, Washington.  Sass3 was fortunate enough to attend.  Once we discovered Caitriona and Sam would be in attendance, we quickly acted on the opportunity to buy tickets for this comicon.  We then seized the moment to purchase the single and group photos to make our dreams come true to meet them!

An Epic Outlander Fan Meet Up After Emerald City Comicon

The Outlander fandom has a unique ability to draw in fans from all across the world who, without the book or television series, may have never found a link to one another.  The passion shared for the love of this series not only brings fans together to form lasting friendships, it also creates a spirit of camaraderie that supports a genuine sense of connection to each other.  Sass3 takes great pleasure in being able to not only portray the Outlander fan experience, but, more importantly, share the positive impact this fandom contributes well beyond the love for the show and book series.

An Outlander SoCal Edition Event: Back In Time With The Frasers

Outlander fans gather and unite quite often.  Sass3 belong to a very active group, Outlander SoCal Edition, in which many members create and host events.

Back In Time With The Frasers is one such event organized and hosted by fellow Outlander fan Victoria. Her creativity and attention to detail made this event quite incredible. Victoria went above-and-beyond hand-making many gifts and centerpieces – all without a committee!

Favorite Moments Of 2016

As we close 2016, we decided to take a moment to appreciate the positive experiences this year has offered us.  As three professional women, with families, we balance work, busy schedules, and taking time to go out and experience all that the Outlander fandom has to offer.  We have loved our time going to Outlander events, as there is no better way to get through Droughtlander than being with others who have your same addiction.  Sharing our adventures in all things Outlander was our motivation to start this blog.  We have enjoyed having a place to talk about our love for the books, author, show, cast, and crew.   As we begin the festivities to celebrate the new year, we wanted to take time to reflect on our favorite memories of 2016.  Come take a look at some of our favorite moments!

Tea Upon Chatsworth, An Outlander Ornament Exchange in San Diego

Tea Upon Chatsworth is a cozy, quaint cafe located at 2180 Chatsworth Blvd. in San Diego, California.  The tea room is a lovely place to savor tea and desserts.  Patrons visit for a unique way to enjoy refreshments and conversation with friends and family.  With antique tea cups and teapots, it has the romantic charm that will captivate any guest.  Naturally, the ambiance attracted Outlander SoCal Edition, San Diego Chapter, to hold their Annual Ornament Exchange there.

The San Diego family is a small, but close-knit group.  Most of the Outlander SoCal Edition gatherings are centered around Los Angeles; however, San Diego hosts occasional events.

Below is a photograph of San Diego Outlander Fans.  One Outlandish sister drove down from Los Angeles.
