“She is free in her wildness, she is a wanderess, a drop of free water. She belongs to no man and to no city. She knows nothing of borders and invents her own rules and customs. ‘Time’ for her isn’t something to fight against. Her life flows clean, with passion, like fresh water.”
― Roman Payne
When we read this quote, our minds immediately thought of Claire Fraser. Although a fictional character, she is brought to life by the level of emotional depth that rivals reality. It is rare to feel that level of connection. The ability to directly identify to the emotions experienced during moments of success or life’s trials is perhaps what cements the bond to the Outlander series. That is the true power of this series – the story becomes personal. We can relate to each character in some form and become emotionally vested. In our case, it led to re-reading the series again to recapture details that we may have missed and relive the joy of following this timeless story. Voyager will bring trials, adventures, and affirm relationships. A new beginning that can only take place with the introduction of new characters.
New casting only adds to our enthusiasm, making our anticipation for Season 3 even stronger! In this blog we will explore the newest roles being brought to life this season, our interpretation of their character descriptions based on the book series, and most of all, what we look forward to in the future. Perhaps, you may even be interested in the trivia at the end of the blog to test your own Outlander knowledge. ♥

Outlander: A Place to Find Refuge During Life’s Most Unexpected Moments
Have you ever been faced with a difficult life moment and without conscious knowledge or thought turned to the Outlander series as a place of refuge? Not under the best circumstances, but I found that this happened to me while sitting at the Ophthalmology office waiting for the physician to look at my son’s newly stitched, three-inch eye-lid laceration. The depth of the laceration unfortunately led to the exposure of the lacrimal gland, causing additional complications. An unforeseen accident, we were faced with surgeons and a series of doctor appointments that were not only stressful, but also terrifying in the process. I have often heard many fans describe the Outlander series as place to find sanctuary or comfort when faced with difficult life events. Here I was sitting in the doctor’s office, having the same experience that I have often heard from many other fans. Continue reading Keep Calm and Love Bees: A Personal Link Back to Outlander
I think we can all agree that there is one scene in Outlander Season 3 that we are all looking forward to seeing: the reunion of Jamie and Claire after 20 years of separation. This memorable scene takes place in Voyager, the third book of the Outlander series. Many fans remember this moment by the finest of details, as the emotions of pain, loss, hope, love, and devotion could be felt in the beautiful imagery and narrative written by Diana Gabaldon. Without question, we hope to see this reunion faithfully lifted from the book to the screen. We could not have been happier when it was announced that Matthew B. Roberts was going to be working on this specific episode!

The costumes that were on exhibit at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills were an incredible testament to the level of artistry present in the Outlander Television Series. The individual designs of the costumes were stunning. I truly admired how the unique embroidery and intricate details brought the pieces to life, while even hinting to subtle references of the creators and actors themselves.

The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising Museum Store (FIDM) had an event entitled “A Morning in the Apothecary.” At the event, there was a guest alchemist that spoke about the general medicinal usage of herbs within 18th century apothecaries. We couldn’t wait to attend this event and learn more about this topic. With trivia, giveaways, treats, and Master Raymond’s embroidered jacket being close at hand, we knew this would be an event to remember!
