It’s every Outlander book fan’s dream to meet Herself, Diana Gabaldon; however, it’s paramount when you come face to face, let alone interact, with the stars who play your all-time favorite characters. One lucky lass to do just that is our fellow Outlander sister, Brenda, who experienced this at a VIP event at Seattle’s Emerald City Comicon. I met with Brenda for coffee as she contenly shared her adventure. I was more than happy to not only catch up with my friend, but also to hear about her epic journey. In today’s blog, we’ll hear about this Sassenach’s escapade meeting the infamous Jamie and Claire.
ECCC, Emerald City Comicon, was held the weekend of March 2-6 in Seattle, Washington. Sass3 was fortunate enough to attend. Once we discovered Caitriona and Sam would be in attendance, we quickly acted on the opportunity to buy tickets for this comicon. We then seized the moment to purchase the single and group photos to make our dreams come true to meet them!
The Outlander fandom has a unique ability to draw in fans from all across the world who, without the book or television series, may have never found a link to one another. The passion shared for the love of this series not only brings fans together to form lasting friendships, it also creates a spirit of camaraderie that supports a genuine sense of connection to each other. Sass3 takes great pleasure in being able to not only portray the Outlander fan experience, but, more importantly, share the positive impact this fandom contributes well beyond the love for the show and book series.

I had last smelled it in the dungeons of Wentworth Prison, where it anointed the linen or the person of Captain Jonathan Randall.
Outlander, Chapter 38, The Abbey
Some of the most profound scenes in the Outlander book and television series can be associated with lavender. Black Jack Randall was a character centered in each of these scenes. He was a character that was brilliantly portrayed by Tobias Menzies. He described Black Jack Randall as “someone with absolute self-belief, arrogance, and feeling of indestructibility.” These attributes were painfully seen in the episodes at Wentworth prison. The use of lavender left such a permanent emotional memory for Jamie that it was difficult to read, let alone watch. Continue reading Outlandish Uses for Lavender
Seattle is my hometown. It is a beautiful city that is surrounded by water and mountains, which validates the nickname the Emerald City. I return as often as I can to experience the wide range of art, culture, and stunning natural scenery that Seattle provides.
